BMW composition award for Caspar de Gelmini
The winners of the VI. BMW composition award of the musica viva have been announced. The first price goes to the Italien composer Valerio Sannicandro for his composition Forces Motrices for orchestra and live-electronics, the second price goes to the Japanese composer Toru Nakatani for his composition For 54 Players for orchestera, and the third price goes to the German composer Caspar De Gelmini for his composition Nightline for orchestra. Nightline will be performed on 27 May 2011 in the Herkulessaal of the Munich Residenz by the Symphony Orchestra of Bayerischer Rundfunk under musical direction of Peter Gülke.
Members of the Jury are: Mark André, Chaya Czernowin, Peter Gülke, Detlef Heusinger, Josef Anton Riedl, Annette Schlünz, Florian Sonnleitner, Klaus-Peter Werani und Udo Zimmermann.
Caspar de Gelmini has won his second BMW award with Nightline after having already won the award 2007 for his composition Farben for orchestra. Congratulations!
