Sekalegga, Lawrence Branco
Dr. Lawrence Branco Sekalegga, a Fulbright scholar and a native of Uganda, is a multi-talented musician educator, composer, songwriter, arranger, and performer. He earned a Bachelors degree in music at Makerere University, a Masters degree in composition at Wesleyan University, and a Ph.D. in music education from Texas Tech University. He is the founder of Bitone Children's Center (https://bitonecenter.org) - a non-profit organization that provides educational opportunities and empowerment to the underserved young people using music and dance. Dr. Sekaleggas areas of specialty and interests spans diverse fields, including: music pedagogy, music technology, arts integration in classroom, improvisation/composition, childrens music, and preparation of the preservice teacher.
